Summer Days

My summer break has been going by well; it’s almost over though. I’ll be starting summer courses in July. So far I’ve been in between Houston and San Marcos.

The fist two weeks I was at home relaxing; reading, watching, and backing-up computer files. So it felt like a very sluggish month. I got to finish reading Larklight, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. They were a great read; maybe fantastic movies in the future.

Then from June 6-9 I went to Chicago with my mom, dad, and sister. We drove rather than flying since it was a spur of the moment choice to have a trip. Well it took around 19 hours which got very tiring and a bit uncomfortable. I did get to start listening to my Twilight audio book, but never got to finish it. Well when we got there we ordered a Chicago style pizza that was just as good as I imagined. The next day we went downtown to roam around.

I wanted to just go to the Museum of Contemporary Art. The Jeff Koons exhibit was and is showing. Most of Koons work was a bit eccentric, but amazing to see. I enjoyed the collection a little bit more, because I got to see some of Alexander Calder’s mobiles and a Magdalena Abakanowicz piece. Calder and Abakanowicz were two artists I studied last semester.

Then my dad and I went to a Border’s while my mom and sister went around shopping. Later on we went to a “hypermarket” called Meijer. It felt like a mixture of all the other stores we have here in Texas. It was cool: I found a few houndstooth things, and bought a box of Jujubes. I really liked Chicago; I’ll have to go back one day and actually see more of the town. It wasn’t a very got weekend to go since there was a bit of bad weather. We left the next morning.

My third semester is complete

Today was my last final for the semester. The classes were great, and the projects that were assigned were fun to work on. I’ll be posting them here within the coming weeks.

I’ll be moving into my new place tomorrow.
