The Nine Star Story
Dee and I have been really into Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events stories. She has read/listened to all of the books. I’ve been listening to the audio books while at work and I’m currently on The Slippery Slope. One of the mysteries in the story is finding out what V.F.D stands for. Through out the books there are numours combinations of words that have the initials V.F.D. In The Slippery Slope there are about fifteen different ones. So While at Sushi Hana we started dueling V.F.D meanings. There were a lot said and I bearly remember. Later on that night we started using her initials D.S.C to come up with. Some were spontaneously said to relate to what what was going on or what we were talking about. My initials C.P.C don’t seem to make up anything good. It’s a cool game to play while driving around or just to see who can come up with the most creative combination. You can only use three letter combinations and initials that have already been created such as V.F.D or your full names initials.

I’ve posted some new photos on my Flickr of my time with Dee at her families crawfish boil party. There are two photos of us on bikes riding around her neighborhood. I’ve forgotten how fun and simple riding a bike is. So I think it will be our new hobby. I need to buy a bike. Possibly one that fits my style. I like the way the iXi bike looks but I think that is way out of my budget.
I have this weird taste in my mouth that reminds me of being sick. I don’t think that I am sick though. I sneezed a few times at work though but I don’t think that really says anything. Although it has been a long time since I’ve sneezed so much.
Alex let me borrow God of War yesterday. The game is brilliantly made and I really dig the character designs. I wish I bought the game earlier when I had nothing to do in January. Anyway its a nice game. God of War 2 is in the makeing. I have to get it.
Dee will be in Houston for the weekend. Her family is having a crawfish boil in their new backyard. We’re gonna do that Saturday and there is a new cajun resturan opening near her house that we might goto. They are givening free refills of wine for the first few days because they don’t have a liquor license yet (something like that).
Also my sister’s kids will be here to visit for the weekend. It will be fun to play with them again.

I got my hands on Saves The Day’s new acoustic cd. It’s called Bug Sessions Volume One named because of Christopher Conley’s recording studio Electric Lady Bug Studio. The cd has seven tracks spanning from all of their full lengths. It is nice to hear him sing some of the old songs in a different way (older). I’ve been a fan of whatever Saves the Day records, and this one will be playing in my Jetta for a while. That is until their new album Sound The Alarm is released April 11th. Everyone who enjoys the way Saves The Day’s sound is going would immediately love this acoustic release.
Track List:

Today went alright and work went by pretty fast. I think my car is hating me right now. It makes a weird jump when I accelerate and hit 30. I don’t know what is going on. Pele is a great band to listen to while you’re working. It’s probably the reason why I thought work went by fast. I practiced my uke for an hour and I’ll try and do this for about eight hours a week. Although this means I have to ignore my drums for a while. I’m still not that great at the drums even after nine years.
Well tonight I made this little slice of art. It’s a man tending to his building and tool garden. I consider it a digital dada, and I think I’ll do more of these. I’ve made some cut and paste ones previously that I love the most.

It has been four days since I’ve gotten my new Ukulele and I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. They say it’s the easiest instrument to learn and they are correct. Being easy makes it ten times more fun to play. I meant to post a picture of it but that will have to wait. I’ve mastered the basic chords and some of the others. With this kind of progress I’ll probably get all of them by the end of the month. I’ve learned a few songs that are simple to play like the song in the video I posted earlier. It’s song is just C F Am G, learn it.

I added some links at the bottom of my journal to some websites. They are the ones I stop by at once a week. I need to add more because I go to a lot of cool sites. I joined Remember the Milk today. It’s a simple to-do list manager, I think I’ll use it some time since there is no way for me to upload my iCal to-do list online. Maybe they should do that somehow with intense Ajax programming that can convert iCal files to be able to show up on Remember the Milk. I’d like that. It probably has nothing to do with Ajax but some other backend programming. I should start learning Ajax, maybe.
