The Nine Star Story
On Friday Dee and I went to St. Paul’s Methodist Church so I can take photos for my Art History class. The project was to goto a church in Houston that has gothic elements in it’s architecture. I choose St. Paul’s because I remember it looking really nice and had a tall bell tower. The sky was really nice during the afternoon. I could only take photos of the exterior because I would have to call them to get permission. It was Friday afternoon and it didn’t look like anyone was there. Plus I just didn’t want to ask.
The church looks like it is a gothic inspired modern designed church. Probably during the Gothic revival period. The strongest elements that I recognized are the elaborate decorative sculpting, the portals in the west entrance, pointed arches, and many finials. It’s a beautiful church. I would go if it wasn’t so far away.
We had a simple Thanksgiving meal this year. My sisters went up to Ohio to visit the rest of our family. I watched Thanksgiving specials on the Food Network and played Sonic the Hedgehog on my PSP most of the day between preparing the food and waiting for my dad to come home. We never have anything too extravagant like we use to back in Ohio. It’s never been that big in our house and we would always substitute chicken for the turkey. The past few years we had turkey and we bearly eat half of it. I’m waiting to make a turkey sandwich with cranberry relish. So around seven o’clock we had Thanksgiving dinner with my brother and his fiance and it was really nice. Well I am going to play my PSP some more, do some reading, and wait for Dee to call me.
I got my camera back yesterday!
Woo! I got my letter from Canon letting me know that they received my G7 and that the repairs will be under warranty. Sadly I won’t have my camera by Thanksgiving because it will take ten business days to be repaired, and that will be a long ways away from now.
I updated my favicon so clean your browser icons or refresh a few times.
It has been a week without my G7 and I am in a such a photography mood. Dirt HAD to get on to the image sensor. I’ll try and keep it safe from getting dirty once I get it back. I hope Canon does a good job of cleaning it because I have heard of people getting theirs back with noticeable dirt still on it. Digital Photography School has some interesting articles and many techniques that I want to practice. It’s very annoying how I read a lot of articles online and I don’t have the main object that it talks about. An example would be reading MacOSXhints during my lunch break at work and not having my Mac with me, and most of the time I forget about it when I get home. Now I don’t have my camera and have been reading some great tutorials and being completely inspired to take more photos. Annoying!
Well I am feeling a lot better now but everyone at work is still coughing.
I am still feeling sick after about a week and a half. My nose has been stuffy and I cough like a dog choking on a bone. I’m probably prolonging it by going to work and staying home doesn’t sound that interesting to me. I did however leave early Wednesday because I felt absolutely useless by being sick. Every time that I have these sick spells it renders me stressed and exhausted. It just got worse today by adding sharp headache that distracted me from doing any school work. I fell asleep most of the day and didn’t want to do anything at all.
This week has also been completely busy for me as well. Everything has been completed for my transfer to Texas State next spring. I am just waiting for the evaluation of my application. The essay was completed on Thursday with the help of Dee, her mom, and Dee’s roommate. It wouldn’t have sounded great without their feedback and help. I also sent out my G7 out for a image sensor cleaning. UPS said it will be sent to Canon by Monday, and I hope that I will get back before Thanksgiving comes around.
I’m still feeling “under the weather” it’s been weird. I’ve never had my nose this congested in my life, and my throat still hurts. I’m hoping it will simmer down by this weekend because Dee will be in town. There is one cure for a sore throat that I discovered; where you place a slice of pickled ginger on your tongue for thirty seconds. I believed that it helped relieve the pain. The weird thing about this is that almost every commercial I’ve seen lately has been for pills and sprays to help a running nose or sore throat. Well my sore throat is some what gone and it’s just a bunch of dry coughs and stuffy nose. I have no idea what this is, and it can’t be strep throat because I have no fever.
I got the new Coheed and Cambria DVD and The Prize Fighter Inferno album in the mail on Monday. Watching Coheed play live is always amazing. I still watch their first DVD and being amazed by how cool they are. I really wished they had played “33″ or “Mother May I.” I haven’t played The Prize Fighter Inferno album much. I just end up playing back ‘Who Watches The Watchmen?” over and over. It’s a really great song. Claudio should do more electronic songs because I think his voice compliments it perfectly. The album is the prequel to the now “The Armory Wars” saga of Coheed and Cambria. I suggest listening to it if you are into Coheed and into the story line.
My pixel shirts project has been in a hiatus because of the impending tests, papers, and other stressful things in my life right now. It’s a project that I really want to accomplish but I guess that it won’t be complete for a long time. I’m sorry if you’re watching it and there hasn’t been anything. I probably would have finished by now because I’ve worn just about every shirt I own since I started the project.
Disco is amazing.
