The Nine Star Story
This morning I had breakfast and watched some TV with Dee. We drank coffee and ate crumbled cake with it. I haven’t had crumbled cake in a long time until today, and it was amazing. I got impatient and burned my tongue because I ate the hot crumbled cake too quickly. It was still a tasty meal. In the afternoon, while Dee was getting her haircut, I went home and watched That Thing You Do! I’ve always wanted to see it because Tom Hanks is in the movie but I forgot why I never did. I’d like to watch more movies about drummers, they’re always interesting.
I was hoping that my new phone would arrive today but it was all false hopes. They said it would be at the beginning of the week so if it doesn’t come in tomorrow it will be a bit depressing.
I’m tired…
-Picked up my parents at the airport.
-Watched Heroes finale at Dee’s - amazing
-bought the first volume of Futurama on DVD

My redesigned portfolio is almost complete. The HTML is set and now I need to work on the CSS more and gather all the content. I was hoping to finish it before the week ended but there were too many distractions during the time I set aside to work. My biggest distraction is doing research on wikipedia and looking around flickr. I thought about just disabling Airport but that makes me feel crippled, but I will try it this week.

I am completely stoked about StarCraft 2 that was officially announced over the weekend at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in South Korea. It looks amazing! The game has been in development for four years but no release date has been announced. There are no new playable races but the units have new abilities and have been changed according to the StarCraft story line. The trailer is great but you have to see the actual game play. I hope it comes out by the end of the year.

I will be in Houston for the next two weeks, and will be spending my days working on the design of my portfolio. Its been a long painful time without an online portfolio. There was a problem and I was bummed for awhile about it. The past few months have been pondering on how I plan to approach the project. I’ve looked around at other’s portfolios and decided to use a one page layout and not worry too much about optimization of the graphics. It goes against the standards but I do not want it to present it low quality. Hopefully before I go back to university for summer class I will have it all ready to upload. If I finish within the week I will also redesign my journal as well.
I will also do some work for my parents, and possibly drum for hours and hours.
Nothing else is planned.
This weekend is my brother’s wedding on Saturday (May 5th). A lot of the family will be here staying at the house. They have commandeered my bedroom for the weekend; so I’ll be in the TV room for the duration. I’m excited for my brother and his soon to be wife. It’s also great because I’ll get to see my family again. A lot of photos will be taken.
It’s the last two weeks of my first semester at Texas State University, and I have to say that it has been great. Today I took the Sociology of Popular music final. It was just the last unit material, and not comprehensive. It was a fun class to take; I’m glad that I took it my first semester.
I have my Intro to Fine Arts, English, & Political Science final exams to take next week. I’m prepared for Fine Arts and English is a 500 word essay. Political Science on the other hand is going to take some more time of studying. Most of the weekend will be spent studying.
