The Nine Star Story
The start of the semester has been a bit stressful. I’m kind of starting to regret signing up for three classes in one day, but that was the only open art history class. I go from 11am to 4:45pm, with only 20 minute breaks in-between. That doesn’t give me much time to stroll from one class to another. I feel rushed because now I have tests coming up with projects to complete, and trying to settle into the schedule has been a bit difficult. I am however thankful that I have no Friday classes. It gives me time to relax after Thursday class and work all day Friday. We will see how things work out.
So the first project in 3D design is to create a layered abstract form with transparent materials. I’ll be working with transparency sheets, colored cellophane, wire, and putting it all together with hot glue. Maybe something else will come up; it is all a progress of experimenting for me. This is my first time working with 3D materials to create a structure in a career setting. So far I have a pyramid to start from.
As for the graphic design course our first project is to create design with just lines to convey a emotion or idiom. So I’ve chosen “conformity” as my word to design for. The project is kind of like what I did last semester in 2D design, but more complex.
I’ll start posting photos on the progress of both, maybe.

My schedule for Spring 2008
…and another semester begins. Tuition, rent, books, and art supplies will cost me a lot of money. I’m taking 12 hours with three classes on Mondays & Wednesdays and one class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is my first semester without Friday classes, but that will be a working day for me. I’m not that excited right now about classes, but maybe after a week it will be better. When I went to get advised they transfered some of my AIH credits to my degree. So I had to drop my color theory class and take renaissance to modern art history. Also within my major I am taking 3D design and graphic design. Then I am taking the second course for political science. I was expecting to be in all COMDES courses, but they fill up quickly. Well this is the first day with political science, art history, and graphic design.
I posted the work I did last semester in 2D Design and the websites. It will be building up in the couple of days because I have another website to work on; the work is almost complete. I might post the drawings I did as soon as I figure out a better way to take photos of them. All of the 2D work is scanned in except for Order to Chaos. I think this is my favorite out of all of them.
