The Nine Star Story
I started reading Beowulf for class, and got through the victory over Grendal. It’s going to be a good weekend.
My first class of the semester was a British Literature class; it was preempted by a fire alarm. It seems like an alright class. I do get to read Beowulf again. The textbook has a different translation than the one I have — night and day different. I did want to read the poem again for fun.
Today was Modern Art History, Sculpture, and Design Seminar. The Modern Art class will be a lot different than the one I took last semester, but then there is also an essay we have to write. Then the test during the third week of class. It may be a bit much; however, the Design Seminar class has an eight page paper that will be due. So it’s a battle of which one will stress me more. The Design Seminar class meets once a week at night; this class is already winning The sculpture class will be my “cool” class of the semester though. I just hope I can do all the work I am imagining.
So basically I have three “history” classes and a studio class. Three of them being reading and writing intensive, and the other being a learning experience. I am now glad I didn’t continue with taking a science course.
I finally got around to upload the reorganized design of my site. I thined elements down and simplified almost everything. It looks a bit too simple; so in the days to come I’ll make more changes. I didn’t have time today to update the work page.
Today was my last day in Houston. Sorry to all those I didn’t visit, and to all those who said they would get in touch with me: don’t bother anymore.
I almost fainted twice on this day — it is over.
Day two was a lot better than the first. My headache was gone and I didn’t crave as much. Although, by the end of the day that wasn’t the case. I just drank lime water all day.
I have no meaningful reason or explanation for the fast, but all I can say now is that I am doing it for the experience. If I ever have a starvation episode I’ll know what it is like. I have not eaten a few times in my early years, but I eat more than I use these days, and this could be the reason for my early struggle.
Day I
Today I had a headache most of the day; so far it has been a terrible experience. I lived on six cups of water. Throughout the day I felt exceptionally tired, and was able to take a twenty minute nap. It was a nap on a bed! I have not lied down on a bed this whole time on my break. I’ve had to tell myself “I am not hungry; I am full” to get sleep. Now it’s on to day two. I could eat a whole lasagna right now.
I had a great time while on vacation for a week in South Padre Island with Dee and her family. It was a nice break from things to worry about.
I finished mounting all the projects I did for my summer classes today. It took two days for me to complete everything. I’ll be in Houston until the next semester begins.
