The Nine Star Story
As some of you know I have ventured into watercolors and I have learned a lot of techniques through The Complete Guide to Watercolor and experimenting on my own. I have chosen to use a 4×4 canvas just to keep myself restricted and have a standard. It is mostly because the paper I use is kind of expensive and I don’t want to waste it. There has not been any really notable examples to show but here are three that I have done over the past week.

I’ve started my project of redrawing all of my shirts in pixels. It will be updated for everyday I wear a different shirt. Although I do wear a different shirt after work I will only add it when I actually go out somewhere. I’m doing this because I want to work on my pixel illustration skills, and I will try and do my jackets and sweaters as well.

I’ve been meaning to post this but I forgot about it after awhile. It’s actually a drawing of Lara during a photo shoot for LiveJournal’s Next Top Model. I liked the way the gloves looked on her so I started to draw the gloves then it ended up looking like that. It is the most recent illustration that I have done and I still have others in progress.

2: a person having a superficial interest in an art or a branch of knowledge : dabbler
I really like this word. It describes myself in full. Art and Design has always been the center point of everything I do. The objects I see give inspiration and make me wonder how they were designed. The sounds I hear form an atmosphere that I can piece together something amazing.
My job has been given me the chance to create and build more upon my knowledge as a designer. The sites that I design for customers have to be quick and match the way our company designes sites. Since I’ve been working I’m working on speeding up my design process. Now that I’ve been working for about three months things have been running smoothly. There is always somthing new that I have to learn.
I am going back to school next month to earn more credits to transfer to Texas State next spring semester. I am taking a History and Cultural Anthropology with Dee. Anthropology sounds a bit though but Dee is smart so she can help me a long with that. We have a few things planned for our summer. There is a visit to the Zoo, bicycling, and going to see Lewis Black peform on June 23rd.

I signed up for the Photojojo newsletter recently. The have really cool photography project tutorials on their site. They have a Flickr group as well that I joined and I need try and submit photos to. I don’t know, I really don’t have that many great photos on my Flickr. Although, I am currently saving up money to buy a Canon PowerShot S80, which I am sure will jolt me into taking more photos. I still have my Polaroids to post in bigger format.
Today I was in a Illustrator mood and I just wanted to spend my monday night illustrating. I first looked at some sites for insperation and then went through my iPhoto to find a good photo. I decided on a photo of Dee and I. I choose it because she looks pretty in it. Well here is what I did; there are others but I would rather not show them here.

Today went alright and work went by pretty fast. I think my car is hating me right now. It makes a weird jump when I accelerate and hit 30. I don’t know what is going on. Pele is a great band to listen to while you’re working. It’s probably the reason why I thought work went by fast. I practiced my uke for an hour and I’ll try and do this for about eight hours a week. Although this means I have to ignore my drums for a while. I’m still not that great at the drums even after nine years.
Well tonight I made this little slice of art. It’s a man tending to his building and tool garden. I consider it a digital dada, and I think I’ll do more of these. I’ve made some cut and paste ones previously that I love the most.
