The Nine Star Story
My Canon G7 came in today! I took a few test shots in my backyard because I didn’t want to go out driving. It got really dark so I needed to figure out how to set the aperture right. Well more photos to come pretty soon. Now I need to get a 2GB SD card and I’ll be fine.
I have bought myself a Canon PowerShot G7, and it is coming in next week. It has been a long time since I’ve had a decent digital camera to take with me everywhere. I think the G7 will accommodate every need that I can think of. Read the press release from Digital Photography Review if you want to know more. I’m excited about the way it looks, the new DIGIC III processors, and the Image Stabilizer.

I went to Dallas over the weekend to visit Roger with Liang and Adam. We hung out and played baseball. I just wanted to post that there are photos from the weekend on Flickr.
Dilettante \DIL-uh-tahnt\ noun
1: an admirer or lover of the arts
2: a person having a superficial interest in an art or a branch of knowledge : dabbler
I really like this word. It describes myself in full. Art and Design has always been the center point of everything I do. The objects I see give inspiration and make me wonder how they were designed. The sounds I hear form an atmosphere that I can piece together something amazing.
My job has been given me the chance to create and build more upon my knowledge as a designer. The sites that I design for customers have to be quick and match the way our company designes sites. Since I’ve been working I’m working on speeding up my design process. Now that I’ve been working for about three months things have been running smoothly. There is always somthing new that I have to learn.
I am going back to school next month to earn more credits to transfer to Texas State next spring semester. I am taking a History and Cultural Anthropology with Dee. Anthropology sounds a bit though but Dee is smart so she can help me a long with that. We have a few things planned for our summer. There is a visit to the Zoo, bicycling, and going to see Lewis Black peform on June 23rd.

I signed up for the Photojojo newsletter recently. The have really cool photography project tutorials on their site. They have a Flickr group as well that I joined and I need try and submit photos to. I don’t know, I really don’t have that many great photos on my Flickr. Although, I am currently saving up money to buy a Canon PowerShot S80, which I am sure will jolt me into taking more photos. I still have my Polaroids to post in bigger format.
On Saturday I wanted to go out and celebrate Earth Day by taking photos of the earth. So I went out and bought a pack of Polaroid film and set out with my ol’ Polaroid Silver Express. I didn’t want to go it alone so I asked Lara to acompany me to find some nice nature shots. We stayed in the Katy area because I felt it would better to be within my surroundings, and I didn’t want to use so much of my gas. I found a nice looking park that had a beautiful tree and a perfect bench. There was a swimming pool that had a whale and a floating alligator. We then drove around the corner and found a pavilion. There was a softball laying by it so we kicked it around before finding a prefect shot of vines. Lara directed us to a water fountain and fall. It was a nice photo session. This conjured up a plan of become more of a Polaroid enthusiast. I took photos of the polaroids with my digital just so I can show you them. They aren’t that great looking far away and on my wall. I really need a scanner. There are more polaroids that I have that I neede to scan. I uploaded my old polaroid website because I plan to add these and more too it. Polaroids!
